Leaving the desert gives me time for prayer and reflection.
I really enjoy the drive back to civilization. My day off in the desert is a great way to refresh even when the temperature is 105 plus. Once it was 124. Believe it or not.
I continue to be impreessed with all this parish has to offer for the people, both youg and old.
It will be interesting to see all the activities swing into gear as the school year starts soon.

It is time for my monthly day of prayer. I will head out to the desert to spend a day of prayer and reflection. Although the snow is gone on the mountains and the heat has replaced it, still walking in the bleekness and the heat leads me to experience God in a whole new way. My new parish has made liturgy very good for me.
Processions are well done from my point of view
There are no music books and everyone reads the words up on the screens. As a celebrant it seems strange to have people starring not at the altar but to the screens when ever music is sung. But...I think this is the coming thing and it does seem people really sing here. I am impressed.
So far, I have not figured out how to do music at daily mass with no books. That will be the challenge in the weeks ahead.
All and all this is a wonderful, warm and welcoming parish.
It was great seeing so many helping with getting food ready for the needy. Everyone seems to work so hard for the poor. Keep up the good work. I am impressed.
I have noticed that after daily mass many fellowship groups meet in the plaza area. Great to see! A time to socialize and to talk over scripture and prayer.
